Dog Handler you'll be issued with a dog and work it, ie. in Search Team or Guard Duty. There is a big difference between the two. It is very very hard to get into the RAVC, when I was in the forces it used to be somthing like 4-6 Dog Trainers, about two farriers and then about 20 or so Vet Asst per year. All units depending where they are will have dog handlers from Marines, Para's, RMP etc.... I did my first course with 3 guys from the paras and rest from various infantary units. So once in a Regiment you still have the option to do this. Anyway, if you want a bit more inside info drop me a PM I can tell you a bit more. Last edited by Harry; 23-01-2008 at 10:04 AM. | |
