 | Re: HOW THEY DO IT IN AFRICA Alot of the time it's down to controlled culling when see footage of someone standing pruodly next to their kill. Herds are getting to big for the land they reside on and need to be controlled. My friend used to go on these camping trips with big American hunters. He watched as they would happily slap down thousands to shoot elephant or whatever need to be killed to keep the herd under control in it's environment. Normally they get two shots or something then the ranger steps in and kills it out right with a controlled shot. Culling of a herd for various species will happen and I suppose the only wrong here is charging vast sums of money to overseas hunters who kill for fun and dont have the skill to do it with one shot. Ivory hunting and anything else that is profitable will attract the locals. Africa is the definition of poverty and the locals are normally supply someone from abroad in the end that wants what they can provide.... ivory, skins etc.. etc.. Never known hippo's to be eaten. Elephant, girrafe, croc, buffalo etc.. etc.. yes. But hippo's I dont think I have heard anyone eating that. Here's a hunt with a Happier ending that took place in the Kruger Park.. Battle at Kruger:
