Sprained Ankle

Managed to get a really bad sprained ankle playing football with my 22 month old son yesterday!
SO...
Started Atkins today as I can't train for at least a week, will start my normal 4 day split again next week when i'm a bit more mobile. Gonna try and stick to the diet for about 3 weeks then introduce carbs at breakfast and PWO.
I'm 204lbs at the mo, don't know what my BF% is, probably about 17/18 at a guess (little love handles).
I'll keep you posted on any results.

Kids are great huh?
Well, keep the carbs low and you will lose alot of fat. Give it a shot, dont be afraid of the fats while cutting out the carbs. It will take a few days before you start to feel diffrent but your energy will go up, the bloat will go down and you will lose some water.

Cheers buddy, I'm aiming to go under 20g per day for the 3 weeks. On top of fats from mayo, butter, cream etc, I'm taking 5ml of flax morning and night.
3 weeks with no booze though - killer!

Hi there Power... nothing like getting kicked in the nuts by your 2 year old eh... lol... it is soooo funny to see a big strong man being laid low by a little boy... (mine has done it to me more times than I would like to remember... hell once is enough...)

Also on the diet... I prefer Body opus type of diet against atkins... this is where you are super low carbs (like you wish to do) for 5 days of the week and then just pig out on the weekend... this is supposed to help keep the body fooled and to keep the body burning more fat... have had good results from it and so have many others... just modified atkins really (although it was around before atkins)... good luck mate and I hope you dont get mauled again by the little fella...

Cheers for the feedback Grey, although you've got me wondering what to do for the best again!
48 hours into it at the moment, got by with about 12g of carbs yesterday, should be about the same again today - really dry mouth today, no matter how much water i drink, i'm using v12 as well to try and keep my strength up (much more mobile today so i can probably manage chest/tris tomorrow, back/bi's on friday, no deadlifts yet though).
I think i'll stick to the Atkins style for 2 weeks and see what happens, then consider switching to what you suggested (does that mean i can have beer at weekends!?).

As for the boy, we look a right pair at the moment, me limping about and he's got a belting black eye and fat lip after trying to run through the patio doors (whilst they were shut - bless him!)
