I met my sporting idol today!
Just got back from Richmond where I met Lawrence Dallaglio and got a personally messaged copy of his new autobiography. I'm a massive Wasps fan and obviously we all idolise LBND as he has been with us since the age of 16. Its actually the 2nd time i've met him but the other time I was drunk in a Kingston night club and ended up walking over to most of the England squad while they were celebrating a victory over Australia in 2002.
Anybody else ever met their heroes (sporting or otherwise)?

i met lol when i was bout 10 got to play tag rubgy wit him also, i`ve also met steve blackman in adventure island in florida, and hulk hogan in magic kingdom but he was bit moody but i guess he just wanted a day wit his family, and i also saw kieth chedgwin in sea world not that he is one of my hero`s

I have met Dorian Yates on several occasions a few years ago, was impressed by him quite a bit... also met big (very big) Lou Ferrigno when he came to my gym to workout and hang out with my boss for a few weeks... he is a really nice guy and god he is huge... sat next to Larry Scott at a MR O in 96 and that was just priceless... glad I paid extra for the ticket now... met Serge Oliva, nice guy but hard to understand, god so many but all good times...

*edit* forgot about the All Blacks back in the mid 90s who all came to my bar to drink after the trials... met guys like Walter Little and Frank Bunce who are both really awesome...

Not so much a hero, but I did see Jim Rosenthal once on the way into Cardiff ice rink where they held the rather amusing Duke Mckenzie vs Steve Robinson fight. That guy is quite possibly the smallest person on this planet.

I met Dennis Bergkamp three weeks ago. I'm a massive ****nal fan and I was supposed to be going to Anfield to watch ****nal v Liverpool. My god daughter had a gymnastics show tho (she is 9 and at a very good standard), had said ages ago that I would go and see her....well I couldn;t let her down and I sold my tickets to a mate. I got there just before the show started, watched a good hour of it then went to my car for a protien shake, as I walked back in and sat down, Mr Bergkamp was sitting next to me supporting his daughter! some ppl were going and getting autographs etc, but I just waited until a quiet time in the show when he was on his own and started talking to him about some stuff for about half and hour! I didn't ask for a photo or autograph (I already have one!) as he was with his family and trying to enjoy his day.....but he is a legend!

I also met Martin Keown in a lift at the emirates and I knocked over Freddy Ljungberg as I turned a sharp corner in Mayfair!
