![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | calzaghe vs kessler anyone going to watch this on saturday? one of the biggest fights a welsh man has EVER had. calzaghe is an absolute legend, something like 43 fights, 43 wins, and at the old age of 35 hes announced that he is to retire in 12 months time. hes defended his current wbo title 21 times since he won it from eubank 10 years ago, this man knows how to box well. kessler is not going to be easy by any means, undefeated in 39 fights, holding two belts and is 7 years younger than the welshman. game on! oh yea, and what an undercard fight, Enzo Maccarinelli who is trained by joe calzaghe's dad, he throws some huge punches! well worth a watch. |

| Part-Time W$%ker | Re: calzaghe vs kessler i have followed calzaghes career from about fight number 6...and if he says he is going to retire in 12 months i think he will...he knows he has very little left and will go out at the top...people tend to think that if he goes out now he will have no money....he will have pundits pay and expert analysist pay at every event he gets an invite to...and they will be a lot (i think)... 1) he has a need to make enough money for the rest of his life 2) he has only a year left ... increases hunger to remain indefeated 3) if he loses he won't get the jobs the likes of nicky piper and duke mckenzie have which brings me to my next point.... nicky piper was ****e...only got the job cos he looked like a pundit...clever use of glasses much...still looks like a cock. duke mckenzie lost to steve robinson at a point when robinson was unknown...(calzaghe on the under card by the way) ...yet got a job as a know all pundit. both the above are a pair of tw@ts IMO...and i think anyone can fill their boots...calzaghe has charisma and at the risk of sounding gay...he has looks too. so why FIGHT for money when he can get money on the other side of the ropes. COME ON JOE...BATTER THE DANE THEN PICK A COCKY YANK AND WHOOP HIM TOO... THEN RETIRE! and then hopefully Ricky Hatton will give PB Mayweather a fvckinhg pasting too...i can really see that happening...unlike the rugby, football and f1...i can see you guys having a true world champ in Hatton. come on the brits.

I think you mean the one before last which was Sakio Bika. His last fight the Manfredo Jr was a joke and just a pay day because the yanks were watching. Joe is like Hatton unless he feels realy challanged and knows he will be pushed then he does just what he has to for the win so at times he doesnt look his best. I dont think real champs can turn it on unless they think they are gonna be pushed. The better the opponent the better the performance as we will see on Saturday as i can see Joe boxing his head off. Joe doesnt get the recognition he deserves mainly down to the fact he hasnt fought in the States which is wrong but thats the way boxing works hence Hatton now getting the mega pay days.

I bought it at the start of the football season for £10 a month, its a bit pricey but things like UFC and Boxing were £15 each before anyway....
