![]() | Help- magazine story steroid use Hi, I'm a journalist writing a feature story for a magazine. It's a feature concentrating on steroid use in the United Kingdom. I wanted to get the other side of the story, i.e why people want to take steroids, is it worth the side effects, do many people do steroids, where are the main places you get them etc...you get the jist. I want to avoid the same old features saying how **** steroids are and instead get another side of the story. Anyway, if any one is interested in helping me out let me know. All help I get will remain anonymous. Thanks Rosie |

Just like the articles you read on here, the best ones are the ones which have been properly researched. | |

I have been involved in the Bodybuilding / strength sports scene for over a decade and have discussed all aspects of the sport, including drug use, with athletes up to and including world champions. I don't do "names", I don't deal in insinuation or finger pointing but if you genuinely would like a balanced view of drug use in sport I can help. If this sounds suitable please email me from an official work related email address with details of the magazine you work for, whether you are employed or freelance etc and, if it currently exists, a draft of the text to date. I would appreciate if you can also include contact telephone numbers for both yourself and editor / publisher, simply for identity verification. Should you require similar from myself do not hesitate to ask. I offer this in the faint hope that over time we (the athletes and coaches) can present the reality of the current situation in sports and engage the media, and indeed the public, somewhat better than we have perhaps done in the past. I also hope to prevent any unfortunate self-incrimination on the part of those athletes who do choose to use anabolic androgenic steroids. We all know what it will be turned into. Steer clear and don't give them any ammunition, because mark my words. What you say is not what will be printed apart from some "juicy" quotes to get people gawping in shock/horror.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Help- magazine story steroid use unless the article is sensationalist and hypes up misconceptions, i dont think the genral public will be interested let alone your editor. we live in a culture where mainstream documentaries are on titles such as: "born without a face" "man with the biggest tumour in the world" "fattest people in the UK" etc etc they dont want to read "the normal practice of steroid usage and its safe application in the world of bodybuilding" |

Pot? Kettle? Black? Let's wait and see shall we? We don't like people prejudging us, why should we do the same to others? |

That way, people can see the type of article that typically graces the pages of the publication & then make an educated decision about wether or not the information provided by them to you, will be used as it was intended. Too many times Bbers have been portrayed as drug crazed lunatics, and the steroid issue blown massively out of proprtion for the sake of sensationalism. I'm certainly not pre judging you, but you have to prove your credibility in order to earn peoples trust if you want them to help you, and that goes for anything in life.

Plus I think a reporter could obtain most of those answers within 30min researching on the web. Just my opinion but you see a lot of these type of reporters asking things but you never seem to see any articles.
