Went to Dominican Republic last year, VERY HOT!! and if you like snorkling the sea is crystal clear!! Most of the hotels are all-inclusive and have gyms. Also its very sceneic and romantic!! Perfect seeing your going with your girlfriend!!

how much did it cost?

Got a last minute deal, 2 people, all-inclusive,cost us about £750 each give or take afew quid!!! Worth twice the price m8!! Loved it!

Yea a couple at my gym went and loved it. The only problem with that is from the U.S. you have to fly to another country first.
Notice all the old cars? It's like a blast from the past.

Yeah we went the week before Xmas, it was BOILING!!
The beaches are amazing and the diving was pretty good. The red sea is better for seeing lots of different sea life though...

We paid about £650 each for a week 5*...had a fab time...would def go back...here is a pic of the boat we went diving on...

Just an idea.... nut I went to Turkey last year, a little village called Hisaronu, near Olu Deniz and it was GORGEOUS! I'd never liked the idea of Turkey, but everyone I know who's been to that part loved it. It's really friendly, the people are great, loads of good restuarants and the beaches are lovely, plenty to choose from so you can easily find quieter areas. Also has the 3rd highest point for paragliding in Europe... about 6000ft, from the top of a mountain with a parachute and a guy strapped to your back... that was a great experience! Also very cheap to eat out and you don't get hassled, the love the Brits cos we spend our money there and they look after you!

If you like snorkling though, the Dominican Republic is great, had some awesome days hand feeding banana to the fish around a coral reef!! But you'll get the same problem as in Egypt if you venture into town, you'll get hassled by every single shop owner. If you want a nice relaxing holiday though, pick a good resort and stay on it! I loved it and it's the cheapest of the Caribbean islands.

Sorry just noticed someone else has already recommended the Dominican Republic. We got a last minute deal as well, it really is great value and it was very hot! Although you get weird tropical weather... we were there at the end of the wet season and it could be 40degrees, then it would absolutely hammer down with rain for about an hour, then be 40degree sun again straight after!! Great place though.

When everything is paid for, now that's a vacation. You shouldn't have to worry about money on a vacation. :smoke:
