![]() ![]() | Sleep For the last few weeks I was taking sleeping pills and was asleep by 12am. I woke up early too. Yesterday I ran out of these sleeping pills but I still had a pack of valerina night medical herb pills. I don't feel this did much. I did not fall asleep and I got tired of trying and by this time it was 1:50am. So I listened to some music till about 4am but still I wasn't tired eventually after a while I fell asleep(my plan was to stay awake all night so the next day I could fall asleep at 9pm). Usually I'd go down the stairs and watch T.V and eat some food but I am tired of doing this. I want to sort my sleep out and get it back into a good pattern. I thought the weeks of taking the sleeping pills would have set my sleeping pattern back to normal but no luck any advice guys? Last edited by 100; 24-01-2007 at 02:40 PM. |

But as we age our hormones decline and melatonin is no exception. It works very well for me, but I recommend taking it a few hours before you are going to go to bed. This is due to it not kicking right away, not only that but it lasts a very long time, if it is still pretty heavy in your system when you wake up, you will feel a bit hung over. This is why taking it early would be a good idea. Aside form melatonin inducing restfull sleep, it is suspected to being a anti-cancer hormone, although studies are not conclusive they are quite compelling. I for one take melatonin, it is not habbit forming, you will find deeper sleep too. Some other things melatonin will help with is drug witdrawl and that includes smoking, prevent cluster headaches, protect against UV. Good stuff, cheap in the States too. Some other things you can try is valarian root, 5-HTP. |
