Possible bad change to car tax

Sign and pass it on to all road users - it only takes a minute

The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month. On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a NIP with your monthly bill. If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the car
driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website

Re: Possible bad change to car tax

Really can't see it happening, imagine the cost of fitting trackers to every car in the land, not to mention other vehicles and bikes! They've been talking about it for ages but i cant see it happening

Re: Possible bad change to car tax

It will never happen.

Possibly to businesses, coaches, etc to get them to pay more to the goverment, but never for personal use, etc.

People would simply not do it.

Re: Possible bad change to car tax

I think that the media/government do these tyoes of programs in an effort to see what the reaction will be. I find it very hard to beleive that the gov would introduce this scheme just yet. There is an insurance company who does it (Norwich Union I think) but the uptake has been very slow.

I would not get too worried just yet. I think the administration side of it would cripple this already decrepid labour government.
