Re: Cutting and Bulking

Hello mate,

This is a proble i struggled with for ages.

I was to scared to bulk properaly and gain a few % BF, so i was always trying to "lean bulk"

To be honest, its very very hard to do, unless you got great genetics or are on a lot of gear.

Personally id say, get about 6 - 8lb above the weight you want to be, then cut down to your weight.

Do clean bulk so you dont add too much fat (dont pig out on KFC / PIZZA / Ice Cream etc) just have more good carbs and fats from pasta, rice, fish, etc.

This way, you only have to shift a little BF to cut.

Re: Cutting and Bulking

If you want to bulk/cut then cycling the two would be best. This will keep the metabolism guessing and potentially yeild better returns.

My diet doesn't change either way, I just up the calories by 1000 in comparison to cutting so that my cals look like this Cut 2800 Maintenance 3300 Bulk 3800.

I bulk in line with my supplement cycles so bulking for only 6-12 weeks at a time, then cut for 6-12 weeks.

Alternatively you could just stick to healthy diet with sufficient calories to meet both a lean physique and muscle gain, after all the average natural muscle gain is only 8lb per year thats 0.15lb or 68g per week or 0.021lb/9.5g per day. Eating vast amounts of calories isnt really required on a natural cycle, to add less than 10g of lean muscle as you can see. Go for quality food over quantity.
