Re: How to get rid of spots...

I always have a facial once a month which unblocks my pores-i have a back exfoliation at the same time.
i use a face wash with salycic acid in it once a week (normally nutrogena).
keep your skin clean but do not overclean as you will make your skin dry and in turn your oil production will increase.
try not to use moisturisers at night to let your skin breathe.
drinking water may help as will having sunbeds.
coal tar soap is very cheap and is really good for scrubbing your back with as is tea tree soap.

Re: How to get rid of spots...

i have used everything under the sun, and what helped me best was benzol proxide(sp) what my doctor give me. other than that, your docotor could send u to the hospital to get some tablets, wich are very very strong, not sure what they are called, but u cant even have a drink when on them.

Re: How to get rid of spots...

all this clensing wipe is aload of ****, well for me anyway mate. not one has ever worked for me. there is a rule though, if u cant see an results within 4 weeks, change your product. yeh, your docotor will give u a prescription(sp) for your proxide, it comes in diffrent strengths, if i remember rightly its something like 2%, 5% or 10%. i had the 5% stuff, and that was strong as hell, proper dried my skin out. i tell u what also works for me, if u can put up with the smell, tee tree oil

Re: How to get rid of spots...

Said it before and I'll say it again.. get to a proper skin care salon. Doctors pretty much know jack all about acne, even the specialists will only give you some pill or other. From my experience, I tried nigh on all of the face washes, treatments, from out of shops and from the docs and nothing really helped.
What I would do is ask for the Minocycline like Executioner said. It is an antibiotic and I would say that that helped me a lot more than the potent Roaccutane. In fact Roaccutane gave me hyperpigmentation and dry nasal passages which I still have today.

Then get to a good salon that offer a good range of products such as MD Formulations. These are stronger than anything you can get out of a normal shop like Boots, Superdrug etc. The skin care specialist will assess your skin and see what course of treatment is best. If you can find a good person they will know a lot more than your GP. The very first time I used a specialist product the redness of my acne and scarring reduced by about 25% just because the rubbish products, such as Clearasil, was aggravating my sensitive skin.

Then you will be tackling both internally and externally. After 2 months I bet your skin will be a lot better. Good luck.

Re: How to get rid of spots...

When you say a skin care salon what do you actually mean?

Do you mean get some actual skin treatment or just some cream/medicine stuff?

cheers

You are 15 and have spots!!!!! SHOCK HORROR!!!!!

Sorry mate, but I don't think the advice given here is taking into acount your tender age, spots at 15 are normal after all and unless you have chronic acne, you don't need to be filling yourself with medication, especially not Roacuttane or Antibiotics such as Minocycline.

Antibiotics kill your internal bacteria, shifting the environment in the favour of Yeast (fungus) and parasites. Such infections could take months to rectify and worsen your problems by reducing your absorption of foods and robbing you of vitamin & minerals.

You have spots because your body is imbalanced, drink lots of water, clean up your diet (eat raw foods preferably organic), follow a strict regimen with your facial cleansing ie: cleans/purify/moisturise every day, without harsh chemicals, and let your body heal itself. You are after all still going trough puberty and this is normal!

Antibiotics treat the bacteria, but never treat the original causes, they are unselective and typical of modern medical approach to disease.

I mean like a beauty salon that specialises in skin care. I mean try to find a salon in your area that uses professional products such as MD formulations or something similar. The company name that makes the products is Cosmeceuticals. Look here:

http://www.skin-health.co.uk/home.asp

Click on Salon Locator. Fill in boxes and then it will find you a salon that uses the products in your area. Phone them up and see what they say and they will probably ask you to book an appointment for a consultation.
The only products that have ever done me any good and got rid of my acne and reduced my scarring and very oily skin.
any more questions don't hesitate in asking.

I have just done that but the nearest one to me is about 35 or more miles away.

Can you order them or do you need to see someone first?
