we were with Wanadoo broadband, they got taken over by Orange and now we want to go to sky as they service is crap.....but they make it SOOOO difficult!!! some thing about an LLU on the line BT cant move it sky cant move it and orange try their best not too. They say you cant speak to a manager at any point of the day as they are unavailable, and they dont have a number for head office, debs been dealing with it as its in her name, and aparently some bloke today called ben got aggressive on the phone!

Who can you complain to?

My brother joined up with Orange a while ago and has the worst broadband service i have ever seen!!!

Dont ever go with them!!!

Orange have only just started their broadband so I would imagine they are having similar problems to that of talk talk and like how the 3 network was when they first came out, its a step by step process that im sure they will improve upon.

are you in a contract with them or is it like a rolling contract where you arent actually tied down for any length of time?

Definately tell potential customers mate and i think alot of people are finding that they are havng problems with them, i have just been told that some one has actually made a forum about Orange..not sure of an addy though.

We had a 12 month contract with wanadoo but that finished a year ago.

every time you phone orange they literally tell you some thing different from the person before!!! unbelieveable!

they must have a regulator threaten them with a complaint give them a timeframe to respond

Yeah - they are crap....

The weren't ready to launch...I kind of have an inside track on this (I have guys working at orange for me) i Can't see it being resolved anytime soon,

right dude you will be on a rolling contract now then, your contract is up and you are free to look for a service elsewhere, get your MAC code and start looking at other broadband service providers if your not happy.

We are able to leave mate but the keep saying that they (orange) need confirmation from wanadoo...but they bought wanadoo....to remove the LLU tag...aparently BT cant even do it....debra spoke to all kinds of different people, and they would all say something different, then when you say "but when i spoke to BEN who works for you, he said this..." they say well i dont know why he told you that!! AAAAAAAAAARGGGGG!!!!

its been going on for about four weeks or more. At one point deabra phoned BT to see if Orange had removed the LLU tags and BT said No, but they have put in a request for you to change your phone service from us so them>>>>>>> WTF????

the latest is Orange have cut the net access and have a date of the 15th DEC to remove the LLU tags, what ever the **** they are and then we SHOULD be able to join another provider.................. All in alll i would suggest that no one goes with orange. My brother is with them and a couple of other people i know are with them and every one says they are unhappy with the service!

LLU is the shortened name for Local Loop Unbundling

In simple terms BT have an Exchange, which is where Broadband comes from. Before LLU BT were really the only suppliers of BB and so the price was fixed as other ISP's were forced to rent the equipment from BT.

Companies like Orange have now rented part of the exchange from BT and put their own equipment into the exchange. Now that ISP's have their own kit in the exchange they can effectively change their pricing as the costs should be theoretically cheaper. This technology that LLU uses effectively is better than BT's as it can deliver faster speeds.
