![]() | speeding fines!!!!! hi, can any one give me any advice on speeding fines from past experiences. Basically i have 3 points on my licence already for speeding. i got caught again doin 54mph in a 30mph zone. they havnt offered me a fixed penalty and have summoned me to court. on the form i can pleade gulity and not attend court. But it says on the form people who are getting done for speeding over 30mph or no insurance should attend as they may be facing a ban. do u think i should just send it off and not attend as i still have 9 points left on my licence ? cheers |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Always plead not guilty!!!...by pleading not guilty u r not denying what u did but u are baiscally saying prove it!!..I read that somewhere!..U can go down the road that the gun might have not been calibrated correctly and all tht ****! Depending on ure situation, u could get a relative to take it for ya....I got done speeding 2 months ago and was gonna get 3 points and £60 fine...Already had 5 points and if u get 6 in ure first 2 years u get banned so my mum said it was her - worked a treat!!!:smoke: |

I reckon you should attend court and plead your case whatever it is. Normally 30 mph over a limit is an instant ban. I'd ask to see the evidence just in case, cos if its going down a hill or something you could argue extenuating circumstances. However the speed you were travelling at is inexcusible in my opinion, you obviously knew you were speeding and this is dangerous driving. Were you driving a kevved up nova with a baked bean can exhaust by any chance? ![]()

| UK-Muscle Moderator | i dont know if any of u lot have been to court for speeding but its very different to what u think... they see about 180 people a day.. you sit in the court rooom with about 40 other people who are about to be done... they call your name your go upto the front the 3 judges sit there read the offence discuss quickly (like 20 secs) and then tell you what u are gonna get!! they are u to muppets saying all kind of **** to blag thier way out of it... all over in about 3 mins!! even if u have a letter from work they still nail u 3/4 of the time!! a mate of mine was in court last week the dude before did 59 in a 30... 6 points already... they said is there any reason u need your license as we want to give u a 6 motnh ban.. he replied... ' i run my own business setting up lighing and marques(sp) so i wont be able to do that for 6 motnhs, my son lives in devon with his mum so i wont be able to see him for 6 months' still banned him! they nail young drivers hard... and people that already have points get ****ed big time!! sorry dude i think u are for it ![]() |

If you do double the speed limit you will get banned full stop.... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Let me tell you something mate, if you stand in that court and tell them prove it, that's exactly what they will do. If it's a Gatso, they will have all the calibration records to prove it is and was working fine! The same will happen if it was a Lidar gun. The court wil never let you off because you promise you were not speeding. Instead, they will ban you and give you an even higher fine, to cover extra court costs etc.Even if you said, you were traveling down a hill and that's why you were speeding, the police officer will stand up and tell you 'that's what the brake is for Sir'. Best thing to do is go to court, plead guilty. When you are asked if you have anything you wish to add before the courts decision. Simply inform the court you must have a car to travel to and from work and that you are responsible for taking your kid or sister to school etc. Tell them you can't afford the cost of public transport either. Basically tell them anything that means you must have a car. Even offer to attend better driving course. If you are lucky, you may just be fined and receive 2 points. Predator |

My mate Aldo just got caught doing 86 on the A3. He was given a 2 week ban and a fine. It just depends on who you have there to decide. Predator | |
