hey hey!

bascially my comp is sh1te at home and i need a new one... i do fuk all on apart from download my tunes for my MP3 player, and look on the net

dont play games really

i dont wanna pay much just something bog standard that does what i want it to do..

any suggestions :beer1:

depends on how much you got to spend mate.

I sell PCs from as little as £399 with a 17" TFT, right upto the £4,000+ mark.

The Isys Intel Range PC seems a decent enough spec to be able to cope with what you want it to do and is £210 inc VAT.

Is the monitor you use at the momment ok as this doesn't include a monitor.

If you need a new monitor aswell then Dell might be a good option as they sell complete bundles at good prices with good warranties

Might as well go 2nd hand if you're only surfing/downloading, as you're a fellow Londoner look in the Loot, quite a lot of blinding deals every day mate!!

Plus you can do searches of x miles around your own postcode, or keep the results under £150, that sort of thing.

As for your existing pc, what's wrong with it now that wasn't before? A lot of people who don't earn their livings in IT often install a lot of unnecessary applications that have their own services, these services slow down your computer a lot - I think £30 or whatever to get tech guy out to have a clean-up might be more what you need?

Rather not go second hand cheers tho mate.. I need a monitor aswell as mine has broken down and has rainbows on each side.. I’m sure there is a geeky word for that!

I was thinking about dell as they seem to knock some fairly decent ones out for 400 quid

Yeah

I cant beat Dell - Mainly cause they use w@nk components inside there machines, but if your only using it for porn and mp3`s then it dont really matter.

The one you have posted is a good eeal yes, but for £49 more you get double the RAM (Memory), double the HDD (Storage) and a 19" Monitor instead of 17" monitor.

Can't be bad for <£50 more...

Depends if you want to stretch your budget a little more really.... but that extra storage will come in handy for the porn, and that extra memory will come in handy for converting the porn into format for DVD to watch on your telly

Plus the extra 2" on the monitor will mean full screen porn will be that little bit better ;)

Its all about how you like your porn really...

Dell are normally better than places like PC World in my experience, but then you can get some cracking deals there too sometimes.

I would stick with brands like Dell, Acer, NovaTech, Toshiba and avoid Packard Bell and Time (Sorry to those who own them).

If it was me buying one I would buy the Dell.

Go online, I know that a lot of manufacturers charge the "Nervous Nigel" crowd a premium for phone sales. Dell may or may not, but you may as well do the whole thing yourself.

And SA is right - that extra £50 will be well worth it for the storage alone!

If both have got a NW cable it should be pretty easy to do...

Do you use USB to connect to the internet now or Ethernet? (Small grey cable, kind of like a telephone connection on the end)
