  | The O/S is stored on the hard drive - so there probably wont be any indication on the O/S. There maybe something in the Bios or some random EEPROM chip that stores it. On some Compaq PCs it alerts you when the cover has been removed - so there are ways of telling. Lorian was correct - the warrenty would be void. I'm just so used to ripping open PCs and doing what I want I tend not to think about the warrenty. |

| DB - Dell's good for the home user. You get a years warranty - collect and return I think and they're a piece of p*ss to rebuild if you doneload to much porn and mess it up. You could use your MP3 player to move all your music from one PC to another (as some act as removable Hard Drives). It could take a while but depends what size your MP3 player is 128Mb/1 Gb etc.... |

| PC World have a lot of customers dropping off their pc's with gigabytes of porno on it, all this get swapped amongst the staff, perk of the job you see, which explains why all their male staff all look so scruffy and too knackered to serve you - because when they're not up all night playing Doom they've been up all night whacking off to YOUR Savanna Sampson videos... ...ermmm, so I'm told... :jerk: :jerk: :jerk:  |

| Dell are fine to open up yourself, when i got mines i told them to sack the dvd burner coz ive got my own that id put in. They told me that was fine and theres no void seal on the computer. dunno if theyre still like that but that was only last year. |
