  | Lads - sell me on the notion of appearing "Tough". Unlike most blokes, I don't harbour some deep wish to appear a hardnut, and this unspoken wish seems to be a constant with a lot of blokes. If violence is a frequent feature of your life, don't improve your ability to reciprocate the violence, improve your life. Is your pub rough? Go to a smarter one. Your neighbourhood rough? Earn more and move out. Raikes, I remember a while back you mentioned not boozing up and the first advantage thereof you mentioned was the clear-headed ability to duff up some ****head...do you not imagine I'd be a lot more embarrassed than intimidated at the thought of drinking in the same establishment as some hillbilly who can't hold his booze?? Not so much "Oh, sh1t" as just, "Ewwwwww, yuck!!". If I have to fight some guy in a crappy place, and win the fight, I HAVE STILL LOST - by being in a crappy place first off, and all I get is knuckles that hurt. Honestly, I don't understand the appeal of being 'hard' - my size, for fatter or leaner, has always deterred aggro anyway, and only on very rare occasions has it encouraged a much smaller person (no Tom jokes, ok?) to have a go. Why go looking for it? Why glorify actual, real-life violence? What can possibly be COOL about it??? Keyser. |

  | You don't have to appear tough. It's all about projection of confidence, I have met some guys who I have looked at and thought, no way would I fcuk with you, just because of how they carry and project themselves. Confidence in your own ability normally dissuades any fighting but the ability has to be there as well. I don't reckon I 'look' tough but hardly anyone wants to fight me, why? Could be 1. I'm a big guy (muscles) 2. I'm a short guy so fighting and winning against me holds no trophy but could be disasterous for their ego if they lose. 3. I am a confident guy and rarely get intimidated by anyone due to my life experiences. In my experience the loudest, toughnut type guy will always be below par to what he projects. All the tough guys I know hardly ever raise their voice or try to appear 'hard' normally of a problme presents itself they tend to deal with it quite quickly and swiftly, no messing.

| To tell the truth - your the only one on here who winds me up - maybe its something to with your overly high opinion of yourself, the way you always try to come across better than anyone else, your bulls1t opinions, your bullsh1t posts, and your bulls1t idea that your any kind of bodybuilder other than just a fat fuk with a set of argos dumbells. | hard or not hard hmmmmmmmm....... what a stupid fcuking thread, who cares if someone is harder than someone else, fighting is a mugs game, no one ever wins a fight, so why even waste time on such a pathetic topic. i would however like to agree with a few of the points raised, most truly tasty blokes do not need to publicise the fact the can go to town, its generally well known. of the lesser known people, i believe the quiet chap who doesnt do all the talking, should be taken more seriously that the lout who is giving it the big one. Not everyone can just earn more money, its just not possible, eg you want to change career or get promotion etc , this would entail college or the like which would mean leaving said job to acheive this, hence even less money and i agree, we need to forget the mentality of everything is possible if you want it bad enough, i will never earn as much as richard branson, nor will i be able to grow wings and fly or keeping it on our bbing level i will never be able to bench 5 plates a side. i dont want to go into some toilet of a boozer so i tend to stay away from place like that, however ass holes can find themselves into respectable places as well.
