i know there are a few bikers on this site so i am seeking some advise on what bike to get. i have just booked a crash course (but have always had an offroad bike)

i was thinking of either CBR 400 / CBR 600 or R6

HOPING TO GET A 2000+ MODEL. & SPEND 2-3 GRAND

CBR 400's are so old now and been ragged to fuk.. i stuffed one under a 8 tonne lorry as it goes!

CBR's are a nice easy bike to learn to ride on and plenty fast enough i quite like R6's aswell and ninja's

cbr 600 f is a good all rounder ,....but imo a bit serious for a 1st timer

cbr 400...dont be fooled by engine size there insane these things and need a loving touch,....

personally i would go at the

Suzuki SV 650 ,....very usable , sound glorious, and look the dogs too

or , i just been looking at these for the Mrs, she has her test soon too...............

Kawasaki ER 6 they do a faired and unfaired version.....do a google ....the yellow one looks sweet........and its whoopin everything in its class atm.....

its just my opinion mate but i wouldnt go pure sports just yet,.........

but i may be biased on the issue co i have a mate still in a coma from a spill weeks ago,....

and DB will tell you i,m not a real biker cos i got a grandads VTR 1000

i agree with raikey SV650 should be your first bike over a CBR imo so nice and easy to ride and plenty fast enough..cheap to insure and cheap parts when u drop it... everyone does on thier first bike mate!

lol,....

i passed in 1991 and bought a Kawasaki ZX10,.....it was the fastest bike around then.....

Baz, you wont remember it , (it was very diferent to todays zx10r).....

it was the predecessor to the zzr1100,......

so really i should,nt preach,.......

i never dropped it tho,.......

bought an RGV 250 wrote it off after 10 months
CBR 400 wrote if off 7 months
zx6r 3 yrs wrote it off rebuilt it and sold it
R1 2.5 years and loving it still!

I am gonna get the new R6

I just love it, also like the GSX-R but the R6 is the one i'll get....

....until I've been riding a while then I'll get the big boy R1

i think the 07 r1 is going to be in them colours ooo yeah! next bike better get saving!

Yeah its about 7.5k for the R6, might get it on HP, have it for two years and trade it in for a R1

I cant get it untill January tho cause the missus threw an eppy about it and told me i cant have it, well I get my bonus in Jan so we'll see who wins then.....

if i had the money a would either go for a gixer or r6, real nice bike and look **** hot imo

dont know what insurance would be like, but a know one thing there easily fast enough for a 1st bike, maybe too fast

i may well sound like a pufter after saying this... ah well! I like my Bandit 600 and have that for a long time... my present one is my second one (off insurance...) i would go for the 1200 but the power in it really isn't needed to be fair...
