Professional injection technique
Hello all,

I just had a minor op, interestingly the injection technique the Dr used to give me the anastetic, seemed to go against everthing I have learned on here
  • She didn't wash her hands (might have done this before I came in)
  • She didn't wipe the amp
  • stuck a pin in the amp, took the barrel off and left it in there the whole time
  • drew into the barrel and then put the whole syringe down on the side (without the cap) while she did something else
  • didn't swab me
  • injected with the same pin she had drawn with
  • used the same pin the stick me in 4 different places
  • used the same pin to fill up the barrel a 2nd time
Are we as bodybuilders extra careful or was this Dr just slack?:confused:

sounds like nothing short of laziness, that is not protocol, id have asked what she was doing.

Different if they are taking blood and the like, and they leave the canula/vacutainer in and just change barrells while the needle is taped to you.

yeh, when i fell through that window 2 weeks ago, he injected me 10 times with the same pin, cause he had to go round all the cuts to numb it. he also used the same pin that he drew with

holdmeback will become famous soon enough
i asked this on another forum,cus when my misses had her gall bladder out
when she had pain relive she ad to have 4 difrent im injections in her thigh
each barrel was a 2ml the doctor stuck a blue on the first one put it in her leg then when done he just pulled the barrel of and left the pin in her leg for the other barrels.
now to me this just looked dodgy but is it that we body bulders are over precausios.(sorry spelling)

its better been safe than sorry IMO them extra few seconds to change a pin or what ever, could cost u an arm or a leg

that was super fine and only breaking skin, not IM, im guessing ?

Very true, I wonder if maybe we have to be extra careful because with steroids you are repeatedly injecting and the more you do it the more chance that you will get a bad one, but with the once in a blue moon you get an injection at the Dr's they will take a slight risk?

Sounds terrible mate.

Body Builders are extra carful when it comes to injections (Well, i know I am) But that was just wrong!

i know man i went to the doctors before my holiday for my jabs...

the bird wiped on an alcohol cleaner than jabbed striaght away before it had evaporated.. it fuking killed!!

and she used a blue when she had oranges to inject water based stuff in my delt.... ffs!

they use green for glute shots, blue for anything else IM and slin pins for anything sq.

i took my little lass for her jabs a while ago,....

and they throw the stuff in,...!!!

on average it takes me about a minute from start to finish,.....

i know its to avoid dragging the experience out, for kids

but she pulled it from behind her back and wham!.. it was in , up to the glue within a sec, then pumped a ml ot two of stuff in , out and done,....

made ME wince, and i,m a rate fcuking oil bag

My typical Glute shot goes:

1) Bath
2) Get Stuff out of safe
3) Open Srynge, leaving blue in the wrapper
4) Put on 19g to draw
5) Draw into srynge
6) Replace 19g with blue.
7) Throw away rubbish - Lock up everything else.
8) Drop towl
9) Remove cap from needle
10) Give needle and swab to clare saying "Dont touch the needle babe"
11) Clare replies "Yes Paul - I KNOW! **sigh**"
12) I tell Clare to swab, which she replies "Yes PAUL - I know! *mutter*"
12) Clare swabs and sticks needle in
13) I think say "Remember to aspirate"
14) Clare replies "YES PAUL! - I KNOW! *growl* "
15) She removes needle and I tell her to hold swap on inj point for a min
16) She replies "GODDAM IT PAUL! YES I KNOW!"
17) All done - Recap needle, and go give empty barrel and pin to kids out the front of my street
