In California, it is a set rate depending how much you make and the amount of visitation. The more time you get with the child the less you pay. If you wave your visitation in California you pay dearly. |

But make sure you get reciepts etc. Not sure if this is true but Ive heard that what you pay to the csa doesant nesesserily equal what the mum gets paid from the csa - ie you pay them say 200 a month - and from that 150 may go to the mum. |

True if the mother is paid state benefits - the amount extra she gets is capped (at about £10 per week!) and the rest goes to the DSS. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 33% sounds too high to me. California is like 21% before taxes and any overtime is calculated in. But the more visitation the less cash. Me and my Daughters Mom, settled out of court. Man, that was the best thing I ever did. I saved all the receipts but she needed to get a car and her credit was terrible. So, I did the stupid and bought her a car. If push came to shove she could say I never paid her. If this were to happen all that money is tossed. Worse yet the court could just say "hey thanks for being a nice guy and buy your daughters mother a car!" Guys get hosed in California. It was all the dead beat Dads I have to thank for that. The pendulim swong hard one way but is starting to come back now. More men are getting custody now whereas before that never happened. You would have to prove the mother was unfit and the never happened. Carl, if you can settle with the Mom, get it in writing, have it notorised and a judge rule on it. This locks you in to your guys aggrement. If you make her mad, she will take you down hard. In California, the woman is considered a victom and the Man is considered a paycheck. |
