I did this last night to my lovely one owner bike.

T junction, turning left into a narrow road - 30 yards from my front door!!

Looked right glanced back left but looked back right at what I thought was a silver police van.

But i was still pulling out so when I looked back there was this bix silver 4x4 coming right at me!

Hit it in the side and then i think the wheel jamed into her back wheel. the bike stopped dead and I was air born.

Next thing I remember was i was standing on the pavement looking at the bits all over the road thinking WTF

The woman I hit lived 30 yards the other side of the junction.

So whats to be learnt from that?

Low speed spill, 15-20mph max for me!

How kin lucky am I?!!!!!!

Look both ways and then look again at junctions.

Dont take your riding for granted - I am a carefull rider, can be fast but generally carefull.

Not a mark on me or my leathers or lid but look at that front wheel for fcuks sake.

I'm a littel sore today in the back, neck, hips and hands. i guess this is either from clipping the bike or the landing on the road.

Ride safe boys and keep you witts about you even at the end of your own road.

They want to take the bike away for assesment in Norfolk somewhere. I have agreed to this as I want to know ig the frame is straight.

if it is I'll have it back and replace the forks etc. I have a complete set of R1 fairings already to go on it.

Should be able to do the repair in a two or three weekends once I figure out how the forks come out.

Yes insurance, £500 excess!!!!! and I bet they offer my ****e for the bike. You know how they work

yep but in auto trader 99's are goign for £3500 still which isnt too bad i guess?

but they are bastardsa nd urs looked mint!!

Yup it was mint and there is no way I would have sold it for £3.5k.

I think I'll be lucky if I come away with £1.5 all said and done

they say assesment within a week so fingers crossed the assesor knows a good bike when he sees it, even if it isnt as lovely as it was :-(

On a lighter note I just installed two 250gb hard discs into a stripped raid.

I was carrying these discs in my back pack when I crashed.

They work fine!!!! unlike the bike :-( I thought they would be fcuked as well.

Maxtor hard discs rule, yes?
