![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Burnout????? Hi All, Lately I have been feeling constantly stiff and sore (Even a couple of injurys), this is obviously having an effect on the training. I am not as motivated as I once was (Still LOVE the gym) and this too is having a negative impact on my training. I am trying to get to the root cause here and have come up with the following: I am not fit enough to handle the intensity (VERY, VERY high intensity every workout). I need to switch things up a little (Been around 4-5 months since I last did this) I should maybe start to do cardio again (I gave this up around 4-5 months ago) My diet is not up to scratch (Doubt this one as I am sure I eat well) My injury's are causing me to lift lighter, which is de-motivating me and making me fear going max intensity I am not getting proper rest (Again doubt this at LEAST 8 hours per day, and only training 3 days) tis aw 'n' ma heid.......................................(It is all in my head) What do we think ppl, I do not want too and will not quit the gym (I might however be prepared to go easy for a SHORT period) Cheers |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | as DB says ! empty your heed. and start over..... once you get on a negative spiral, its very difficult to reverse it....... do you train alone? i also think you should post up your diet, and let Hackskii have a butchers at it!.... he may be able to see something you're lacking causing your drop...... worth a try mate!.....dont let it go too far,... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Most people overtrain on VERY VERY high intensity (I assume you mean beyond failure, dropsets, partials, negatives etc). In fact, many people overtrain just going to failure on a regular basis. Leave a rep or two in the tank and focus on adding weight to the bar each session with regular scheduled deloads as opposed to trying to go to all-out failure each session. |

maybe do as Big suggested first, cause if Bigs suggestion works then you were obviously struggling with this part of your training...but if you still feel down and are not wanting to train or cant train corrctly look at Hacks advice. Change one thing at a time and you'll see where your going wrong. Good luck fella.

![]() | like someone already said. i'd take a whole week off from exercise.. i got injured and instead of working round the injury i stopped all together for a week. when the time came for the gym again i was like a kid at xmas. jumped in there pumpin my stuff! i was gettin all excited cos i'd missed doin the bench press and feeling the swelling of me tits after a workout lol. that way - motivation came back and my injury had healed so now im fine. |
