Note to all Advertisers
Hello Gang

Right - Since I opened UK-Muscle back in April 2003 I have NEVER charged for advertising/promotions etc.

I have ran UK-Muscle at a Loss to myseld now for almost a year and have spent in excess of £600 (Vbulletin Licence, Domain Name, Monthly Hosting costs, Advertising and Forum Enhancments)

I DO NOT AND NEVER WILL INTEND TO MAKE PROFIT FROM THIS BOARD. I VALUE MY MEMBERS AND APPRECITAE THE SUPPORT FROM YOU ALL.

With the recent traffice increased I seriously need to look at upgrading my hosting servers and packages.

This means more loss to me.

Also my Vbulletin licence is due for renewal again, another £100+ for that.

Buy the end of 2004 I estimate having spent over £1000 on this board, with £0.00 income from it.

I am going to have to start to charge for advaertising soon, because i cannot support the funds of this board on my own.

Charges wont be high (Like on MT, EF, etc, etc) just enough so that I can cover the costs of the board. I will take some of the costs of course - I wouldnt expect advertisers to pay for it all.

Once the need for upgrade becomes critical I am going to need to find around £50 - £75 extra a month to support the board.

If you think this is unfair please let me know, i will send an email out to all companys currentally advertising when the time comes.

Sorry, but i have no choice in the matter - I didnt expect to board to out grow my current servers so quick.

Mmm. Sounds reasonable mate. Let me know how much etc.. Would it be pay per click or a set fee?

Who do you use to host the site mate? What kind of package are you on? My www.bodyshapersfitness.com site gets fairly similar traffic, and I'm thinking I may have to upgrade our hosting soon too. I pay about £20 a month for hosting from fasthosts (business ms server with asp) for that site.

At the moment we have 390ish members. (Tell you member count on the forum home page)

About 200 - 250 of these are active members and 150 or so are regular posters

These numbers have been achived from Word of mouth and minimal advertising so i expect the member count to have at least doubled if not tripled by end 2004

I have had numerous PM`s of people offing to send me cash/cheques but I am in no position to take it at the moment - I just woudnt feel right taking peoples money.

Thanks for all the offers guys, i really am not 100% sure how to handle this, as i cannot go on funding it on my own, but I also dont like asking for money.

Your post only go up cos of me mate , I'm thinking about charging for my services too , you know, I won't ask for much, just about 30%, thats gotta fair yeah, I mean, I could praise your advertisers for excellent service and that, and they could give me free suppliments like, you know what I mean?
