| Newbie Trainer | Need Help Hi, I'm 21 years old, 6' 4" and 150 pounds. I'm really tired of being so skinny and have decided to do something about it. I've already talked to Paul a bit and he told me come here because there are some great people here willing to help, well I'm all ears. He already recommended some supplements and told me I need to be eating a LOT. I really have no idea what to do as far as the weights go. Any advice is appreciated. |

| Sexy Moderator | Hey mate Good to see that you registered ![]() Right, As i mentioned you really need to start to eat more - Your metabolism must be mega fast at that hight and weight. Your current build, im guessing is lean / low fat. Id say you want to be hitting 3500 - 4000 Calories a day, with around 250g protien and 350g carbs Also, as you said, you have access to a gym. You want to start off on compound excersises only and work each body part only once in 72 hours. By compound i mean Bench Press, Squats, Deadlifts, Shoulder presses and some bicep curls. You can throw in some light ab work/tris etc also. Im sure the guys will start to respond soon, and we`ll help you get there mate ![]() Paul

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hi bobby, welcome to uk-m mate! bobby, your a natually thin person like me and a lot of other people on this board. With hard work, perseference and dedication you can gain weight no probs. First of all i recommend you buying the diatia book. (check out the diatia thread or www.regimenx.com). This is a really helpful book that instructs you what to eat and when to eat. This will be your bread and butter to gain weight. Basically you have to eat more calories than your basic metabolic rate, that is the rate in which your body burns fuel. Yours is particularly high hence you being thin. You have to eat more calories than you burn resulting in weight gain, thats the basics! Understanding however what makes you actually gain weight is important to you know why you are doing the things you are doing. Check out the gaining weight section here on uk-m and there is tonnes of information+articles that will tell you about protein, carbs, fats and their effects etc. I cant really tell you in one post what to do totally but buy diatia, read as much as you possibly can about gaining weight, weightlifting and we'll sort you out from there. Keep posting if you are really fed up being thin because you can gain weight and you will, all depends on how bad you want it.

I dont think you can just go down the grocery store, buy some foods and gain weight on them. I wish it was that easy and convenient. Because your starting however you want to be fed gently into the swing of things. the links i posted will answer that question.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | First of all welcome bobbyrlg ![]() Second to get an idea of how much you need to eat, it takes 3500 calories to gain only 1 pound of bodyweight. So, you would have to overeat by 500 calories a day to gain 1 lb a week. But the body is smart and might just speed up some adding extra food so weight gain might slow down in about 3 weeks of overfeeding. Keep the exercises basic and dont overtrain. Doing more than you need (train) will only stop your weight gain. Man, you are going to have to eat alot and almost feel full all the time to gain weight.
