Newbie

I was just wondering what the realistic weight gain would be for someone who is naturally very skinny.

Im 6ft 5 and weight about 195 lbs.

I was about 180lbs 8 weeks ago but I seem to have hit a wall.

Re: Newbie

thats a tough question mate as theres so many variables such as diet, training, genetics etc. if diet was spot on and training was consistant, you could probably put on a pound a month, whats your diet like mate, if you've hit a wall id suggest upping your calories

Re: Newbie

Well i did some research before starting to train however everyone says different things. My diet is:

Breakfast 7am - oaks. 2 pints skimmed milk

Meal 10.30 - Chicken sandwich (Brown Bread)

lunch 12.00 - steak or chicken sandwiches, 2 pints milk

Meal 3pm - fruit

Dinner 5.30 - pasta, chick or fish, veg

Trainings 8pm (Tuna with 2 pints milk just before)

2 scoops of whey per day.

To be honest I was gaining well but got slightly lazy skipping the odd day. I also gained too much fat as I believe I was eating to much pasta originally.

I believe im getting though approx 200g of protein per day

Re: Newbie

You will get what you put into it.
Meaning that if you are dedicated and gain the right knowledge and advice, your potential could be of great expectations.
But bodybuilding is all about learning what works best for your physique and this comes woth time and trial and error.
Just because you are tall and skinny now really means nothing, I was extremely skinny at about 5ft6 when I started training and now weigh alot more.
Its all about dedication, advice, and consistency, who knows we could see you onstage in a couple of years.

Re: Newbie

Cheers for the advice,

Im setting myself realistic targets and trying to stick to them. I was gaining about 2 lbs per week when i was training before but lost the motivation.

Determined now will let you know how it goes
