Quick advice needed

Hi guys, quick example diet here, Im 24 6.1 about 12 and a half stone. Not sure bf level but Id say about average. Can see the top 2 of the 6 pack line in the morning, lol.

Anyway Im after gaining weight, current diet is aiming for about around 500kal per meal so 3000kal a day sourced from good fats and complex carbs . Also aim for at least 30 grams of protein per meal although some are more so 200grams of protein plus a day.

Typical day.

8:30: 4 poached eggs, 2 brown toast

11:00, pint of semi slkimmed milk, 2 oatabix, 1 scoop whey.

1:30, 2 checken breasts, brown rice, some vege

4:00 :same as either meal 2 or 3

7:00 proper meal, meat vege complex carbs

11 half pint of milk and scoop and a half of whey

Also taking multi vit, flax seed oil, and some other extras.

Does this sound about right for gaining weight? Im on a push pull legs routine and really limiting my cardio.

Thanks guys

Re: Quick advice needed

id say you would need more protein mate, id take the protein up to 240g or even 280, id add in a protein shake with your breakfast as the four eggs will only give you an average of 24g of protein. id also drop the oatabix for proper oats and a handfull of nuts and probably add some cottage cheese to last meal at 11. one thing to remeber when putting on weight is to have a surpless of calories in your diet, hope this helps mate

Cheers for the quick reply mate, just reading about and general idea does seem like 200 grams of protein probably isnt as high as I could go so cheers.

Quick question. Why would you say normal oats over oatabix? I thought they were just oats but mashed up abit with a bit of salt and sugar added. I prefer them because they mix alot better with the milk and whey as I drink them as apaose to spoon job.

I used to always have cottage cheese before bed but for some reason stopped so yeah Ill start on that again this week, casein protein is the slowest to digest so best before to help stop your body becoming catabolic if I remember rightly?

Re: Quick advice needed

you've answered your own question about the oatabix dude... its full of additives and sweetners, a normal bowl of oats with a chopped up banana in is just as tasty with better quality calories. your right about the casein aswell

Re: Quick advice needed

Agree with gymrat, whole oats are better as obviously no processing or additives.

However,Oatibix are a very good product and i wouldn't be concerned about the negligible amount of sugar and salt.If you are happier eating them and can't switch, they will do just fine.
