Looking for diet help - Cant Drink Milk

Hi, i have recently signed up for the forum. I have been reading here for a while getting plenty of tips etc.. however i have one problem that has not really been adressed.

I have been trying to build muscle for just over a year i am 6ft exactly and my weight has gone from around 68kg to 78kg and as you can see from my picture im not very big.

My problem is however that i have ibs ( a really pish medical condition and a nitemare for folk that have it). This means that I cannot consumer several foods, these include Milk, Citrus Fruits and Some Veg like peppers and other spicy foods.

I currently take soya protein as pretty much the only supplement.

my typical diet is as follows..

2 grilled sausage or bacon rolls for breakfast

2 chicken breast rolls for mid morning snack
+ Soy Protien Shake
Chicken and pasta for lunch

2 Small steak pies in evening

Rice and Chicken for tea.
+ soy protien shake

I never eat takeaways, and try to get as much protein as possible in my diet however eating this often is boring and im starting to skip meals because of it.

What im really looking for is advice on what other meals i can include into my diet as not consuming milk kind of restricts alot of things!!

sorry my post has been so long! any help wud be greatly appreciated.

I also train every day except tues n thurs as my rest days.

Thanks

PS i dont like turkey or fish

Re: Looking for diet help - Cant Drink Milk

well.. iv been kind of stuck around the 78 kg mark for around 6 months or so, so pushing up to around 83-85kg with muscle would be my ultimate goal.

But... my immediate goal is introducing new foods etc into my diet but still getting enough protein, theres only so many chicken rolls one man can eat everyday. lol.

Thanks

Re: Looking for diet help - Cant Drink Milk

Have a look at my diet that I posted up recently. You should be able to adapt the amounts and foods to your liking and work from there:

my typical diet is as follows..

Meal 1
2 grilled sausage or bacon rolls for breakfast
Oats porridge and some raw eggs and a shake. Not fatty ar$se sausages and bacon.

Meal 2
2 chicken breast rolls for mid morning snack
+ Soy Protien Shake
Chicken and pasta for lunch
If those are 2 whole chicken breasts you dont need the Soy Protein shake and chicken pasta lunch. Perhaps Just chicken breast, rice and veggies.

meal 3
2 Small steak pies in evening
OUCH!!! Once again, perhaps a nice steak, rice and veggies. Steak Pies is basically junk food.

meal 4
Rice and Chicken for tea. <- tea?? before bedtime?
+ soy protien shake
if before bedtime then perhaps Protein shake mixed with cottage cheese. Taste like a natural yoghurt in a way???

I never eat takeaways, and try to get as much protein as possible in my diet however eating this often is boring and im starting to skip meals because of it.

Turkey no problem... cause we have chicken.

But no fish removed all fish and tuna from your diet. Get some omega fish oil capsules to supplement here.

You really only left with steak, chicken, eggs, potatoes and rice as your main diet. Get a weight gainer (nlarge2) so you can up you calories to aid in growth. You diet currently is not clean at all and you need to revise it. You say you not happy eating so much but I only see 4 meals there. Try eating another 1 or two!!!

Best bet is... get 4 meals sorted and then add in another, then another if possible. each time make sure they have good protein from chicken, shakes or eggs and a steak 2 or 3 times a week. Try only have the shakes at breakfast, post workout and before bed. Try eat as many whole meals possible consisting of healthy lean meat, rice/potatoes and veggies.

The key is up the calories and protein mate. When just having a shake throw in some nutts for healthy fats.

grilled sausage or bacon rolls for breakfast
Oats + 1 whole egg and 6 egg whites (scrambed) Failing that a shake.

1 chicken breast rolls for mid morning snack - Keep this, but drop the shake - you are getting loads of protein from the chicken. Although, what kind of chicken is it? Do you make this yourself? Hope its on wholemeal bread.

Chicken and pasta for lunch - Fine. I'd try and get some veg with it though or salad.

2 Small steak pies in evening - WTF? How do you stay lean eating this crap? A nice peice of rump or sirloin with rice and broccoli.

Rice and Chicken for tea. - Fine, add veg if you haven't already eaten plenty in the day

Have a shake before bed with some natural peanut butter, flax or fish oils.

Also when do you train? There doesn't appear to be any post workout nutrition. You need fast acting carbs and protein. Search PWO shakes.
A very poor diet you have there mate. Protein from the sausages and bacon is garbage same with the pies. You're basically eat pig and cow sphincter. mmm tasty...

At least you're honest mate. It makes me laugh how you say you don't eat take aways, but eat pies and bacon butties each day LMAO

Plenty of changes to make. Don't worry about milk. It's full of sugar anyway.

Good luck with your progress.

Re: Looking for diet help - Cant Drink Milk

thanks for your help guys... il clear a few things up!
Tainted soul...
All weight gainers contain milk- i emailed a few companies few months back and that was ther response cos the contain whey... Also cottage cheese does also! Thanks for the suggestiongs... think the best way forward is to get four main meals sorted and consistent.

Ivisble kid.... iv now got oats for breakfast that i can mix with water and have a shake with that.. much better!

The chicken breast isnt the reformed cold meat if thats what u mean.. but i cant have wholemeal bread either... and its not everyday that was jus a typical day :op.

I also train at 7 inbetween evening and tea.

Thanks for everyones time.. i think iv got enough suggestions to work with. but if anyone wants to make any more feel free!

Re: Looking for diet help - Cant Drink Milk

If you can't eat Wholemeal then I'd certainly drop bread completely. What's the reason for not being able to eat wholemeal? Nuts? How about just standard run of the mill brown bread?

In any case I'd be very tempted to go for a tuna mayo salad if bread isn't an option. It might actually work out better for various reasons. I think mayola from Sainsbury's might suit you due to your allergies?
