![]() | Soy Protein (I KNow It's Been Covered Before BUT.....) All advice 'preciated. The training is going really well, in fact I've decided it's the easy part!!. Maintaining my 5 to 6 meals a day is the difficult part, with work etc etc. Anyway, my question is, is a soy protein shake better than no shake at all???? I'm aware that it's not well thought of, but I'm allergic to the rest of the shakes and I find hitting 300gm of protein a day, consistently, difficult. Was planning on having a couple of shakes a day on top of regular meals, which consist of the usual tuna, loads of steak and chicken. All thoughts appreciated. UB Apologies again for going over old ground ![]() |

Some studies deny this. There are positive health issues like prostate cancer that suggests soy might be good. For me Whey all the way. See if you can find a milk and egg protein or whey protein that does not cause you to have a reaction. Other than that you could eat dessicated liver, eggs etc to get your protein requirement up. Dessicated liver supposedly has a natural antiestroegn in it and is high in B12 and other B-vitamins and other vitamins as well. I am not sure I had some soy laying around and I tossed it after I found out it had phytoestrogens in it. They do use soy products for postmenapausal women to ward off hot flashes and I know they give women estrogen for the same purpose.
