Yep, a lot of me clicks too. My right ankle and my left knee in particular. Went to the doc about the knee clicking, and he told me it was no big deal and perfectly normal.

So unless it hurts i shouldnt worry about it right? It was actually the girlfriend who pointed it out. Was through in the bedroom and she could hear it clicking in the front room, 20 feet away, just a bit worrying is all

I think i take the cake for clicks.

I have had it checked out by so many doctors/specialists and they all same the same thing. If it doesnt hurt, dont worry about it. when it does start to hurt, come back to us.

jago25_98 is on a distinguished road
athlete and citizen

I find the doctor reactionary response a bit annoying.

Pros:

- it's good for most people not to confuse

Cons:

- we still haven't been told what is is or what causes it

Why is being proactive considered exclusive to the hypercondriact?

Another one could be asking the doctor how you can improve your deadlift.

`Is it affecting your wellbeing?` misses the point

Doctors are there to help those below the physical norm, to only help those who really need it. But if you're already there and looking for info on how to be above average they're not very helpful.

You see, I'm a perfectionist when I can be. I don't want my joints clicking all over the place if at all possible. I relise it's not harming me (yet) but I would like to know more about it.

This is the difference between an athlete and a citizen.

Its probably an escape of gas or a tendon clicking over a bone or a lax joint, you could introduce some rotator cuff exercise which will help hold the ball of the arm into the shoulder socket.

Clicking is actually caused by air bubbles in your joints, I found this out from a physio. Nothing to worry about.

I got these symptoms in about 1998, at first it didnt cause pain but later on turned into tendonitis (which TBH was painful) which is inflammation of the tendons. My Physio just gave me massage and anti-inflammatory tablets as there isnt much else that can be done - I must admit I no longer have the problem though so I may have been just going through my last growing spurt.
