Time off

Was wondering what everones view on taking time off training. I do my four days a week in the gym but i never schedule any real time off, ie a week or 2 every once in a while, anyone think this would be usefull or what?

I take one week off every 12 so basically week number 13 that gives me 4 times a year off (once a season)

Yes definately usefull.

If your training hard constantly week in week out, then itsa good idea to have a week off every now and again!
It lets your body recover fully and you will be itching to get into the gym after a week off.

Plus everyone deserves a good week or 2 off now and again as we all qork so hard, sometimes its nice just to chill out and not worry about things too much.

sounds like a good idea, my trainings been very "instinctive" lately, i havnt had a week off since jesusu was a boy. Instead of goin till i break i think i'll add in a week off every 12, just need to make up a routine to fit that now

cheers

Its called periodization Bigdav and you still need a week off every 3 months or less. many top athletes take a 1/2 week off every 4 and a whole week off every 12.
