| Getting HUGE! | for rugby I would do them on two 4in boxes to get a bit deeper, will develope the girdle as well and help you explode more IMO

It just is such a demanding exercise and like i've said in another thread - if you increase your lift in this dramatically then your lifts in all other pressing (and possibly pulling) movements are going to naturally increase. If you get to the point where you're clean and pressing almost as much as you were previously benching then your bench press cant fail to increase at the same time. I believe even your deadlift will be improved as the first part of the movement is basically a light deadlift done in a more explosive fashion.
