Forearm/Wrist pain

Hi, for about a week and a half now I have been experiencing a sort of pain in my forearm. I'm not quite sure how to describe the pain but it feels as though it is inside the bone, it is only when I lift weights which is especially annoying as I'm on my first cycle right now! It is a sort of dull, nervy pain, it is definately not broken and I highly doubt fractured. It does however stop me from doing many reps. I was wondering if anybody had any advice or treatment for this type of injury?

Back off from any heavy squating and be careful when your doing any kind of pressing movement. Keep your training strict and light until the pain has totaly gone. I somtimes get this problem when I squat heavy and then bench the day after. give your arm and wrist time to recover. You have obviously pulled it, try resting it for a few days, warm baths, massage, saunas and more rest.

do lots of stretches before and after workouts, I suffered the same pain during preacher curls for ages, down along the bone kind of inside (allmost like its about to break or seomthing - but u know its not).

The physiotherapist said it was a swelling of the muscle tissue pressing on various channels for the tendants (sort of like carpel tunnel syndrome), lots of stretching of the forearm and wrist before and after exercises, and in teh morning and evening until it goes.

This is what I would have asked.

My forearms hurt doing strait bar curls.

If it is this exercise then use dumbbells

Talking

I use to get awful shooting pain down my forearms when I first started training a few years ago now, and it killed so much it brought tears to my eyes (yes sympathy please guys!!!! hehehehe)

I just struggled on and tried to do lighter weights using the same exercise and evenyually my forearms grew stronger and now I rarely get any pains at all.

You can always try wrist supports, they helped me a lot. Maybe even consider a sports massage as you may have an on going injury and not realise, they may be able to sort it out. I have a monthly sports massge and get all my joints and muscles relieved! Its awesome and well worth it!

Thats very tempting yeh! Sorry I didn't reply I moved this post to another forum in an attempt to get answers quicker, I'm impatient ;-) The trouble began with the EZ curl bar in my opinion, definately whilst using those sort of preacher curl benches. Tempted by wrist supports also, I have the weakest wrists in the world, my forearms are abnormally small and my wrists are so tiny and fragile.
