| Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger | Re: Dumbbell Chest Exercises For your chest, you can do the same pressing motions as you would with a barbell with the added advantage of being able to bring the DBs lower and bring them together at the top with a nice flex to increase your peak contraction. These work from any angle - incline, flat or decline. Also, you can do flye motions to bring out your inner chest and get that separation. Again, these work from all three angles. For your abs, you could do dumbell lying leg raises whereby you lie flat on a bench so that your @rse is on the bench and you reach behind your head to grab the bench itself. With a dumbell held TIGHTLY between your feet, keep your legs straight, flex your abs and bring the dumbell up to vertical above your abs. 3 sets of 8-10 are good enough. |

| 250lb starting weight ^ lots of work to follow..... | Re: Dumbbell Chest Exercises Bloody hell talk about being a lazy sob and not looking any thing up or watching people in a gym ![]() Here is one i like, take the dumbbells go on a steep incline bench lower the dbs until they touch the edge of your shoulders slightly lower than your chest level palms at this stage face towards your legs then as you push up slowly twist the dbs that your palms face each other. |

That said its a thing to do now and again because you wont handle as much weight safely thus should be done as a pre-exhaust or some thing similar. |

![]() I did now find a site with animated gifs of techniques: http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html Thanks Inggasson, just kinda worried about the lack of grip from holding a dumbbell between feet, so I wont go near that one ![]() | |
