Re: Lunges

Walking lunges with DBs are a killer. I have to really force myself to do them on diet but they are VERY effective at bringing out leg sweep and inner thigh definition.

I have heard that kettle bells are better than DBs for this purpose because the weight hangs not balances in your hands.

Re: Lunges

Have just added them to my programme - or rather my trainer put them on the sheet when I was out of the gym and I found them there when I got back...... really hit my quads, glutes and hamstrings every time.. I must be doing them wrong! My legs are on fire after each set and sore for the next two days.

Re: Lunges

I did walking lunges today for the first time in a long time, used DB's. 12.5kg each hand. 12 "movements", so 6 either side was a set, 4 sets. OUCH! Really felt it in the outer part of my glutes and hammy's.

Re: Lunges

I might have to revisit these then, been looking for another quad ex for after squats as I train at home now and dont have (and am unlikely to get) a leg press machine... was thinking of front squats but lunges would be better I think...
