![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | time under tension i was talking to a guy i know and he was saying that much more inportant than wat you lift is time under tension, i was wondering how true this is and what is ideal tut? isi it different for each individual? he was sying its all about how many fibres are actually stimulated your veiws? |

I think that TUT is very important and often overlooked, when people talk about what rep range to use is 8 better than 10 etc etc. 5 slow controled reps can have the same TUT as a set of 10 reps that are just hammered up and down. I think that people often 'cheat' and lift too heavy without good form, without full range of movement and far too fast, but hey it looks/sounds good that they can 'lift' x amount.

I try to keep elbows locked in and also use a preacher bench for dumbells. I do see some people in my gym using a preacher bench but not keeping their arms dead straight (more of a diagonal across the bench) which kinds defeats the object really. | |
