Small Chest

I dont know what it is with my chest but it seems to be miles behind all other body parts no matter what I do. I could at one stage comfortably bench 120Kgs with good form but it didnt do much, seemed on bench to attack my shoulders more than my chest. I admit at the time I was more lean although I was heavier overall but my diet was awful and I didnt train legs. Any ideas on what I can do to make it grow. I think flys or pec dec maybe the way forward but Im not too sure. Im now back in training and have done probably 5 out of the last 6 weeks solid and can see changes all over especially with the new diet and the legs along the way but my chest just seems to stay how it is.

Re: Small Chest

Heavy doesnt mean stimulation and growth

as you say, the 120kg was hammering delts, chest isnt going to grow from that

Nor will it grow from 1 rep maxes and very low reps like it will with pure recruitment on a lower weight at higher reps.

5-6 weeks is not long enough to see tangible changes IMO

2 years is a good starting point to add slabs of muscle which will stay on what is one of the major muscle groups

get a reo range to build muscle
get the exercises you feel in the chest yet abide by basic compounds
employ progressive overload
eat in a calorie surplus
be patient

flat bench
inlcine DBs
Dips
+
1 isolation

is a good starting point over 12 sets

6-12 reps and then start finding how to progress from there

Re: Small Chest

Thanks mate, the trouble is I know 6 weeks Im not going to see much change but before the 2 years out Id trained solid for 4 years building up from 40 Kgs to around 100-120. My chest still dodnt seem to grow. the mo mo Im trying to do:

3 Sets Flat Bench around 60-70Kgs
3 Sets Incline Dumb Bells
3 Sets Pec Dec

Hopefully the diet will help me out. As for dips, I used to do them on at the end of chest and triceps sessions, although how do you perform a dip where it uses more chest than tri ?? Probably a stupid question but do you lean further forward if you know what I mean !!
