Unhappy Chest gap??

I have always wondered about this? How come some chests have a big between them while others have a nice line from top to bottom almost like armour? you see when my mates take there top off i noticed a few with a huge gap in the middle and it makes the overall chest look not as nice??

Is this genetic or could you train to decrease the gap size?

Thankyou
