Toned with fat in abdomen

Hi guys

I have a friend who i train with who has gained size but also fat in stomach, it looks odd as he is slim but tones and when he sits down you can see a belly poppin out

Problem is how can he get rid of his little gut and keep his size, if he does any cardio he will waste away!

I couldnt help him as i gained size and remained cut??

Men hold fat mainly:

lower chest
ab area

then lower back/ass/thighs

he just isnt ripped enough and can do

so he has no muscle? the only thing you should lose when dieting is fat and water

if he is shirnking he either:

doesnt have much muscle
going catabolic
feeling/looking flat

what is the point of being 'big' if you are holding fat?

Or he maybe in fasting mode pushing hibernation with a metabolsim as dead as a dodo

When he squeezes his abs they blurry with fat deposits around his belly n hips but his chest arms shoulders are very good? its odd to be honest

you think he should do light cardio few times a week?:confused:

it wont alone be enough

3 x 3 minutes easy cardio is going to get shot of about 1/3lb of fat per week max if diet is the same as it was before

the requirements for getting cut:

Heavy weight training
calorie deficit with the manipulation of calories and mainly carbs
some cardio work
time

If he falls foul of the above then the end result is jeopardised for most

Thank you lost soul will tell him this

He just afraid he will end up skinny with abs ( i see many like this very bony looking but they have defined abs)

Will tell him keep his diet up but lower the carbs maybe in evening times

If he has muscle he wont, he will just feel flat for a while

if he does end up skinny its likely he has no muscle or has gone catabolic, the latter easily being avoided

I'm hitting the cardio at the moment and am also worried about ending up losing muscle.

How can I make sure I don't go catabolic? Will keeping my protein intake high, and getting protein immediately after training help?
