Right bigger than left!!

I've noticed that my left bicep feels much weaker than my right one, and there is a small but noticeable difference in muscle size. Is this normal?? What can I do to even them out?? I am right handed.

Cheers

Re: Right bigger than left!!

this generally happens if you use dumbbells, and you've just started training...I had the same problem, but it eventually evens out, but if you use a barbell with correct technique, it helps a lot more

Erm it would be the other way around because your dominant arm would lift the brunt of the weight when using a barbell while with dumb bell your dominant arm cant help.

I have this as do most guys if you look at pics.

Re: Right bigger than left!!

As already said its not unusual to have a dominant side.

Performing db curls would be beneficial.

Pick a weight you can perform 10-12 reps with on your weaker arm(the task will obviously be easier with the stronger arm).Do 3 sets.

When you can perform all 3 sets with ease, introduce more weight.

Eventually,as you keep upping the weight, your strength will hopefully balance out.

Re: Right bigger than left!!

My Right bicep is definately the dominant one, it can take more weight. I'll try using dumbells only and see what happens.

Re: Right bigger than left!!

this sort off thing happens to most bb in there first year or two,i had it too as well as some guys at my gym,one big right bicep and one smaller left, all i did was do a left arm workout straight after chest,ur bicep is warmed up after chest and ready for it,u should gain some size in ur bicep to match ur right over time...
