Problem is it is conditioning and speed. Stretching: I know you did not ask for it but I typed it up by accident. Man, without showing you it would be hard to explain. Understanding muscles and how they work would be a big help here. Front of your legs (quad) you have to sit down then put your (1 leg) foot next to your butt then lay back do this both legs. Dont forget to breathe as this relaxes and helps stretching and the lactic acid disipate. Inner thigh (inside of leg) sit down and take the heels of your feet and put them together then draw your heels twards your crotch. The knees will lift off of the ground but just push the knees to the ground. Pull your feet as far to your crotch as possible on this to get the most stretch. Hamstrings (back of legs) sit down and put your feet to where they look like this V in front of you. Take a deep breath and lean foreward till you feel it stretch to get some range here you will just have to take your time. After a while, you can lean twards the left leg and try to keep the foot pointing up. This will aid in stretching the calf as well as the hamstring of the left leg. If you can grab your foot and putt it twards you. Do the same with the right leg as mentioned above. Then go back to the middle again and lean as far foreward as you can. Take your time and rotate back and forth. Hips, sit with your legs V in front of you and grab a foot and bring the inside of your foot to your chest this will stretch the hip flexer and you probably wont be able to do this but just try. Follow up with the other foot doing the same. Roll over onto your stomach and do like a pushup but let your hips stay on the floor, this will stretch your abs. Roll over onto your left side and take your right leg and put it over to your left side of your body try to make it 90 degree with your body then take your right arm and put it over the left side of your body. This will stretch out the right chest and the right hip. But it will also put a twist in the spine to gain range there. Do the same by laying on your right side and all opposite from above. Shoulders take your right arm and bring it accross your chin then grab the back of the right arm and pull it twards your face with your left arm, this will stretch the rear delt out. Do the same with the left arm. Chest, walk into a doorway and put your arms in the doorway even with your head with arms parallel with the door jamb. Arms should be above the head with your elbos even with your ears. Using your weight relaxing try to make your body fall through the doorway. This will streth out your chest. I did not cover all of the stretches but take your time relax maybe listen to some music or watch tv. You can not rush stretching. Range will come slowley but it will come. Stretching is one of the only things that truely will relax the body, increase circulation and gain range of motion. Hope this helps.

I have only been Kickboxing for a month now and I really enjoy it, great exercise & good stress relief too. I am being trained by a friend from work who has recently started classes in my town (Grantham) he is a current UK & European champion in his catagory. He reckons we should be pretty good and able to compete in a year. Try a few lessons yourself and see what you think & if you like it then think about buying your own gear. I have never been very confident myself when it comes to confrontations but weight training & now Muay Thai is definately helping and I am pretty sure already I could take someone down if I had too, one good inner or outer thigh kick would take anyone down. Regards Nige. | |

Married a topless dancer that was the most flexible person I have ever seen. She taught me. Then she cheated on me so I divorced her. To this day I can still do the splits (scissor). Trips people out cuz I am 44 5'7" and 210 lbs. Nice thing about flexibility is it is completly usable for every day things. You only lose range you dont gain it with age. The longer the range or stretch in a exercise there will be more overall growth within the entire range of that muscle.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I really must do more stretching for flexability though.....ive heard it stretches the facia tissue surounding the muscle and helps promote growth... anyone know if this is true? Funny tale re the dancer Scott.... the way you said it so matter of fact..... good you can joke about it now.....
