cant squat/deadlift? try this!

as most of you know by now i need a new disc in my my back and have done for more than a few years.

result was :i couldnt squat or deadlift(which for me has a huge effect on my appetite)for around 4 years - until i found a way.

i only filmed myself to check my form-not to prove the weight i`m lifting-hence you cant see all the plates.(you should be able to see all except the 2 smallest plates)

it did make me realise my lift is more partial than i thought-but that`s not important-the results are!

the lift was done at 166kg with a 15kg bar trap using 20+20+10+10+10+5+0.5kg on each side.

to me its the constant progression that is important.
the weight is just a marker rather than a number.

my target has been to get up to 400lb`s,tho i suspect i would need to get to around 5-600lb`s to make up for it being a partial.

I went to a personal best today in deads, but I am very conservitive.

you gotta trust me on this one-
i am very conservative and injury aware-
its taken me basically 18 months to work up to that-
youve read it-so should know-lol!
tiny increments all the way up-
ive been on a kilo each workout now for 3 months.
my pb from the last trainining cycle was 150kgx20
168 now.
wouldnt even dare try 170 without doing 169 first.
never tried a single and dont plan to-

it isnt the weight i`m pleased with -
just the progression!

You said 20 reps, is that all in one go or was it 20 sets of 1 rep?

20 reps done rest pause style-
up to a minutes rest in between if i need it-
you could look at it as 20 singles
or as i do - blocks of 5-
thats when i have some water-lol

If that is in the brawn book, I have not got there yet.

Im gonna have to rip back into that book. I am a pretty fast reader and should have finished it by now.

lol-ive started filing down the hard skin now-
20 rep partials for squats /deads are pretty much at the core of all the routines in brawn.
i`m hoping to download 2 more of his books on limewire - one being the technique descriptions for exercises which i`ve been wanting to read for ages.
if it downloads i will be boring the ass of you all with it!

it feels better than what it did prior to doing the exercise-
cos my back is stronger and i do alot of stretching,
but its a pretty constant pain nonetheless-
its weird that i can lift cos i cant do most sports now-
lol-i walk alot!
