Talking it was leg day today but........

i only done afew sets of squats along with some extensions

wasnt feeling up to much in way of going heavy!

decided to have a go at some lunges id never done these before

i absolutely love them theyre wicked got a fantastic pump my whole leg felt as if it was growing straight away lol and the other one!!

can i do these instead of squats? not forever but if im feeling like i was today?

i know they are more of a shaper but will i get some size off them too? :lift:

Lunges are good, but they're no replacement for squats.

If you don't feel up to a heavy workout, just take it easy and do whatever you feel like (or take the session off). Missing sessions or going easy every now and again is not a bad thing at all!

Lunges are very good and i think they give good results but u need to squat more so imo

sqauts are king for size, but lunges are fantastic.

zercher squats are excellent for variation too!

yeah i dont mind them cap!

its just that the lunges seemed to get everything quads hams glutes and calfs all at once i like em lot

see how it goes ill do afew weeks at em and see

i dunno how to transfer a vid, but basically its a squat move, but the bar is held in the elbow crease.

easiet way to do it is from a low pin of a power/squat rack, put your arms underneath the bar and once the bar is sitting in the crease, clench your hands together for stability. un rack the bar, do your squats and repeat. its tough, and recommended to use a thick bar cos it hurts less!!

you could even try a full blown zercher lift, start off like a squat but instead of merely squatting the lift, deadlift the bar. now thats tough. its lift deadlifting from an 18" platform!

Lunges are a fantastic movement, they can never replace squats permanently, but they're a fine addition to your leg workout. Make sure you actually collar the disks though!!
