build size with less weight?

my physio has fixed my shoulder finally but says that if i go back to the weight i was lifting (130kg flat bench) it will end up the same again so my question is i can still get a burn with 80kg and can lift it without pain so can i continue to grow at this weight with higher reps? he also says that my mass is impeding my brachial nerve so should i even be trying to get bigger?

If for medical reasons you have been told not to lift heavy and not to gain mass, then IMO you shouldn't lift heavy and you shouldn't try to gain mass!

If you still want to gain mass despite what doctors tell you, then yes, you can gain plenty with lower weights and higher reps - as long as you're still using progressive resistance.

when doing low weight with high reps do you take your time with each rep (pushing and releasing very slowly as if your concentrating more on the breathing side). Many people who i've trained with do it like a once over and get a whole set out the way in 20seconds lol. give EACH rep a good 10-15seconds ;)

You can get big with no weights at all. I know guys who have done time at Marion prison, which has been on lockdown for years. 23 hours a day in their cells with no access to weights at all. They do mainly bodyweight exercises, but some do fill plastic trash bags with water and put them in their pillow cases or whatever. Mostly pushups and Hindu squats, and a crappy prison diet on top of that, but some of them are huge and ripped.

If you have ever done combat 100's, you know what you can do with low weight. Pick a weight that you can lift 75 times. The goal is 100 reps, so if you can do 75, stop and rest for 25 seconds, then do however many you can, like 15. You have 10 reps left, so rest 10 seconds. Then maybe you can only do 5. Rest 5 seconds. Then maybe you can crank out 3. Rest 2 seconds. Do that until you reach a total of 100 reps. By the end of it, you can only do one rep at a time, and each one feels like your max. When you find that you can do 100 reps with no rest, add however many pounds necessary so that you can again only do 75 in the first set.

You can incorporate combat 100's into body weight excercises, too. Instead of adding weight, decrease your rest in between sets. When I used to do this with pushups, I would have a puddle of sweat under my face, and at the end, each pushup felt like I was trying to push 500 pounds.

The biggest my legs ever got was doing chairs against a wall with just my body weight. Squat down like you are sitting in a chair with only the back of your head against the wall.
Hold it until you collapse, sliding down the wall. Rest maybe 10 or 15 seconds, and get back up. I did that until I was fried and couldn't stand up. Twice a week is good enough.

Anyway, lots of good stuff you can do with no/low weights. Doesn't look cool at the gym huffing and puffing trying to do a single rep with silly light weight, but whatever.

arent these methods good for tonning rather than for gaining mass? i do alot of those exercises before i trampoline with full stretches, another good 1 is arms straight out from your side holding sumthin like a can of beans or somethink for aslong as you can,(i have to hold all diff postions when doing ground work in gymnastics) i dont no if these exercises are for gaining really jst for strenth mostly if you get me.another good exercise is controled hand stands, jumping to and from platforms. omg i feel like a total weaklin ha 80k reps lol i can bench 100k once lol n am done i do my reps n sets with 75k 10reps at 4sets
