Stiff leg deads

Can i get some info on Stiff leg deads? like a vid showing how they are performed, some info on the muscles it works cheers!

Also does anyone else use this exercise in their workouts and how much do you feel you benefit from using it?

Yes I do.

I am confused about the other types though, Romanian and ?

I did them yesterday, quite light though as I didn't have my lifting straps (my grip is POO) high reps, so I did back, hams and bis together.

GREAT exercise, form is really important

Video page choose "romanian dealifts" as stiff leg is not there, and they are the same thing.

SLDL works the lower back, hamstrings and traps.

I do include SLDL in my workouts, once a week. The effects are noticeable, as its a compound exercise, and has an effect on CNS to make your body grow.

Awesome exercise. I do them on the smith machine (i remember someone, possible TinyTom, saying this reduces the use of your stabilising muscles and keeps your waist smaller?) So if u r a bodybuilder this is a possibility for you.
I do bent leg good-mornings after SLDL's as well, really works the hammy's.

I do the romanian ones then as I allow a slight bend in knees when doing mine - I love the feel of this exercise.

Ive been rounding my back doing Stiff leg deads, is it meant to be straight back when doing them?

i done my back in last wed

doing dead lifts out the rack, on the last set. lol i didnt even get it out the rack, when i just started to straighten up, i felt a sharp pull right across my lower back ( just above my aas ).

I felt like crying, ive been walking around with a hunch since then. Im going to try to do some chest tonight, almost all the guys in the gym were like " have you hurt your back ? Why do you do those lifts ? "

Im the only one in there who does them. still you live and learn eh.:(

JOhn I've had that too mate.

Get to an osteopaths quick as you will have an imbalance in your body which will exaggerate the injury.

My injury was caused be my always using my right side for lifting my gym bag etc. This caused my right side to tighten up.

Tom its no joke mate

ive been walking around hunched over kinda bent to the right, its a fcuking killer to try to stand straight.

Ive been doing the ice packs through the day, a hot bath at night and deep heat on it at bedtime, i work week on week off, fortunately this is my week off, im back on tuesday though.

I dont know if they perfom the same role but we have a chiropractor near us, would he be of any help?
