| Gym Addict | Deadlifting for tall people Guys. I've tried deadlfting in the past but with no success. I always struggled with it. I obviously thought my technique was at fault, so i got some advice on correct form. Yet i'm still finding it difficult as i just don't feel comfortable. I was wondering if people had some more advice or perhaps an alternative/adaption. Tommo |

Try various different grips and foot positioning , you may find that this help a bit aswell.

Feet in, feet out, mate just do the lot with a moderate weight, then when you get it, just increse it by 5kgs evry time you train, until you gotta put on 2.5,s, then again until you can only increase it with the biscuits ( 1.25 ) lol. Then youve cracked it. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Instead of using the conventional barbell, use the bar that actually surrounds your entire body. Im not sure of the bar's name, if it has one at all? So when you deadlift....the palms of your hands are actually facing inwards and are at the sides of your waist. This is especially useful because it allows the back to stay straighter since it doesnt have to bend forward because the bar is in front of you. It is very useful for taller people because we have to squat down lower to the bar to keep our backs straight.

| Gym Addict | Cheers Pete. I'm training back on Friday so i'll experiment with the wide stance. As for you TT, you vertically challenged folk don't have the same prorblem as us tall ones! Sod the blueberry bars, those marshmallow ones are the bomb!! I had 3 the other night on the door. Gonna have to stop that. Come on down to Prolab mate. Cheaper than your place. |
