hey guys i tried a new squat kast week
hack squats, using a machine at my gym, they are great much better for the front quads
really good i found them still hurting today gotta watch going too low, but my legs aren't that weak and i could only do 20kg aside
does anyone else think these re good/bad?
just thought i would put this up here
thanks guys!

be careful as they can play up your knees (make sure you push through your heels). I also get a bit of back pain if I go to low as my back starts to round so I don't do them.

I used to do the old fashion hack squats holding a barbell behind the back of your legs and squating.

That is some good advice. I agree with t-man and robdog. But if you want big legs then you need to do squats. Squats produce more natural tes than any other excercise. There are no shortcuts. I am sorry for that. If you cant do squats then heavy leg press is second. All the other stuff is just for shaping. Squats will build upper body size and strength. On a young man 16-20 it will actually expand the rib cage and make you a bigger man. Have you ever noticed the biggest guys in the world do squats and deadlifts. Well bench also but that is a whole different subject. Stick with the basics. If in doubt, do what the powerlifters do. Bench, squats, deadlifts.
How about this. The excercises that you dont like to do are the exercises that you should do. That also goes for the taste buds too. :(

Yes it does. It gives the diet hope. I do eat food that I dont like. After eating like that for a while they do start to taste good. You could eat like that if you changed your thought process. How about this. An average shake at mcdonalds, to burn that off you would have to run (not jog) for 50 minutes. I dont know anybody that could do that. So does that shake taste as good? I will say it again. Diet is key. A great build comes from a strict diet. Anybody can be strong with excess fat. It's disciplin. Also anybody can feel motivated to work out on the gear, but its the real men that train through the post cycle and keep the gains. Train smarter not harder.;)

Robin, if the knees are hurting from that exercise then you need to not go as deep and put your feet out more and drive off of the heals. If your feet are too far back then you cant drive off of your heals. so put them out some and not too wide as to throw off your natural allignment of your hips to knees. Too far out works more butt and I dont think you want to work that do you?OOPS!

Also for your first time 20kgs each side is normal. I see guys with 5 on each side at my gym and I think to my self, Man that looks heavy. Those actually bother my knees though.

For legs squats are king.
