Eggs after a workout?

Im wanting to start doin my weights next week but as money is fairly tight at the moment i wont of bought any whey protein so was wandering if i drank 2eggs straight after a workout would it be an ok substitute for the whey. I know its not going to do a better job but would be better than nothing, right?

Also im thinking of drinking 6eggs a day starting with 2 in the morning 2 after workout then 2 before i go to bed. Would this be any use?

thnx

Not the best option bro, you will need protein that is absorbed easier/faster, before bed wouldn't be a bad idea though.

Ok thanks, is there anything else i could mix with it so it wont taste as bad. I have never even eaten an egg so drinking one is going to be a challenge

id suggest more than 2 eggs after a work out thats only about 12-15 grams of protein - imo you should be looking at least 30g for each meal and after work out

Drinking raw eggs is very good for you, when i trained seriously years ago i comsumed 24 raw eggs with milk every day. Dont think i could do that these days but to answer your question yes it would be a good idea but i would have more than two after training.

Well, the eggs have a fair amount of fat and if insulin is high after a workout then you might not want to eat the yolks.
I think a whey protein shake with some juice might be better here or some glucose or glucose polymers along with the whey is best IMO.

Oh man, free range if you can afford them.
They have 19 times the Omega-3's than store bought eggs.

right i tried my first egg drink this morning, it went wrong!!

It was disgusting, i only used 1 egg just to try it.
Anyway i microwaved the egg for abt 25seconds, i added 3heaped tbl spoons of oats, 1tbl spoon of natural yoghurt and a tbl spoon of ice cream. Where i went wrong was adding water instead of milk.
Next time ill add milk, my stomach couldnt take it. I only had a small sip aswell.

I think it was the thin texture that made me wretch, im not giving up so il try again later.
