Frozen chicken or fresh?

This might be a stupid question but is frozen chicken any difrerent from fresh chicken? (apart from being cold )

Just thought maybe it being frozen affected it, im gonna look bloody stupid if it isnt no different.

Also should i buy full chickens or chicken fillets and how do i know the protein amount as the ones i usualy buy have no info on like that.

Frozen ones USUALLY contain added water to help them freeze. Often frozen ones (for no apparently reason really) have added salt too. So it's better to buy fresh from the butchers as you tend to get 100% chicken.

For protein and nutritional information look on calorieking.com.

Thanks for that info, i think i remember reading it on a pack of frozen fillets actualy that it contains water+salt.

Would this have much of a bad effect?

the salt is a preservative, when we buy turkey etc etc at work if u look very carefully u will also notice fine grains of pepper, so if your gonna store "fresh" meat in your fridge for more than 2/3 days give it a quick rub over with pepper, not to much though.

The salt also helps pull more water into the meat so that it weighs more pre cooked, giving you a perceived value that isn't there. (cheating eh?)

IMO unless you have the money to by free range chickens whether fresh or frozen they are full of all kinds of sh1t.

I know these massive 2kg chickens you get for 4 quid lol are reared in about 6 weeks or so i think. They are pumped full of protein and anti-biotics and are never cleaned once while they are growing.

Sick realy but they are cheap.
