Sodium, good bad or ugly

I have been reading about sodium recently and the changing thoughts that
it is not as bad as first thought, and in fact maybe beneficial for dieting, strength
gains and joint protection. I've read one article by Paul Delia (max ot)
who recommends increasing it!

I've just noticed it in FST-7 part 2 they also say sodium maybe good for you.

I'm going on cylce pretty soon so am interested in what you guys say, I was
lead to believe salt = water retention.

Looking forward to the replies

salt does equal water retention but i do believe you need sodium in there,it helps your body metabolise carbs better and helps with keeping your body in an anabolic state.
Without it,or depleting to far with it in your diet you leave yourself open to all sorts including severe muscle cramps, tears etc.
I personally keep it in my diet precontest quite high up to three days out when i drop it

Same here. Salt is used all year round in reasonable amount, only drop it 24hr before show.

Re: Sodium, good bad or ugly

There was a bit of discussion about this on the DPketo thread the other day. We were advised to keep it in our diets if we are following the keto diet on there.

The doctor advised me to keep salt in my diet because of my low blood pressure. I do get cramps and pains in my muscles if I have too low an intake.
