You need to let us know whether you're cutting or bulking.

Some ideas: tuna, chicken, wholemeal bread, rice.. the usual suspects

Don't wanna fall out with anyone and Regimen x is certainly a good info source for diet but if the answer to every newbie question is buy book A or book B, it will kind of defeat the object of having a forum for the exchange of FREE information won't it? Otherwise the forum just becomes an advertising tool.

So not trying to offend but I can just see a lot of diet questions getting reffered to Regimen x for answers, which would be a shame, even though some of you have been more than generous with your free advice already and I wouldn't blame you for doing so.

In answer to your question liftheavy61 get yourself a 1 litre tupperware container and fill it with a meat group, vegetable group and a starch group. Examples are chicken, wholemeal pasta and tomatoes. Season as required. Any combination can be used the proportions of which will be defined by your goals example: protein/carbs/fat 50/20/30 cutting 40/30/30 bulking, others may have other ideas.

Another simple idea is cottage cheese, very portable food probably need some carbs though or how about wholemeal pittas with chicken, salsa and salad?

The best advise i can give to a newby is to refer to chefx book!!!!!

I think you know I could answer a simple question like that in full SD, but why bother when the best diet plan I have ever read is available? This diet is far better than any members here can come up with

I am not making financial any gains from chefx book, but I know that it is the way to go right from the begining

You dont want to fall out with me? Why try to antagonise me then?

I have never fallen into an argument with any member of any board before

I would like you to retract your post please

Agreed, for a newbie it is a very useful book ;)

Why bother? why do any of us bother? because we like to share I guess and help others reach there goals safely with a free exchange of information. Yes you could have answered that question in full (and then some) so why not do it? Whether you do or not is up to you and I wasn't questioning that right. Whats next, when a newbie posts, hows my routine? we just say 'well buy this book on amazon and find out?'

Not sure its too much different than what most members here recommend to be honest, its certainly very simplistic.

Wasn't insinuating that you are taking cuts from Chef x Jimmy or anything like that!

And I hope you havent fallen into one now mate!

Was just making the point that if every newbie that asked a question got reffered to a book, forums would be pointless. Your opinions and advice here are always held in the highest regard and as a moderator your advice carries considerable weight, I myself bought the book on the strength of your recommendation!! So it would be a shame if you didn't give it any more in preference of referrals to Regimen X. So if you feel I have slandered you in some way, please direct me to the offending sentence and I will 'edit' it, to my knowledge I didn't even mention your name.

Peace out Jimmy

My use of the English language here wasnt the best when I said 'why bother'

My point is that the best advise I could give to this new member was to but the book.

If this member had then come back to me and asked for more advise I would have been happy to oblige. IMO the best start for any new lifter is a book outlining a decent diet. From this they can get ideas and draw informed conclusions for themselves. The book I advise is dietax......I use it myself for gods sake LOL

Granted! But I dont only advise people to buy a book.....Check the other forums, I answer many Q's daily, the only ones I leave are the ones that have been answered well already. Mainly by the likes of big, hacks and yourself......In which case I will only comment if I feel that something has been missed out which is rare.

As said above, I dont just refer to chefx, I always answer with the best advise I can and this time I felt it best to point the member to the book!

Other mods hav also done the same on this forum, I dont see you slapping their wrists for it LOL

What ruffled me somewhat was the fact that you seemed to be giving me a very polite telling off! You need not do this as you dont moderate this board. If I was out of line then admin WILL do so, all you need to do is best answer the origonal poster with your own oppinions.

You need not have mentioned me by name as I was the only person that advised the book.

Now lets get back on the subject of the thread please so liftheavy can get back to school with a decent lunch.

Liftheavy, you dont have to buy this book but I do recomend you do so

Whether you do or dont I will be glad to answer any Q's you may have if it is in my power to do so

I was going to respond earlier to the original thread but for reasons that kindof put me off was the fact that this guy is young and went against all peoples advice in not using steroids.
We mentioned about dieting and training and he would not listen saying he had a good diet.
Would not listen about taking steroids at 17 years old, maybe even 16 but took them anyway.

Now he wants a diet.

Sounds silly not listening to the best advice he could ever get on not using steroids so young, but did anyway.

I have alot of free advice on eating meals away from home.
I take a lunch everyday to work and eat throughout the day on this lunch.
Im lazy and cook lazy and think lazy and see how easy I can make a meal that does not cost an arm and a leg and not alot of preperation.

Im going to the gym now and will respond to this post after my workout.

Rant over!
