My present diet, whatdya think?

Hey,

I am pre cycle at the moment, due to start in a week, below is my current diet, which I think I need to increase to gain. I have a crappy small appetite so I am using weight gainers which I know are unpopular, but its better than nothing?

Meal 1
Oats so simple & Milk
Two slices granary bread toast
Butter
3 eggs
1 can mackeral fillets.
V12
Multivits
Glutamine 5G

Meal 2

Pro Mass shake with milk.

Meal 3

2 Chicken breasts
250g Pasta
LF yoghurt
Whey shake

Meal 4

Pro mass shake with Milk

Meal 5

Beef casserole, large portion.
LF Yoghurt

Meal 6

Chicken legs x 4

Pre bed
ZMA
Glutamine 5G

Post workout I drink another V12 with 5 g Glutamine added and drink another pro mass shake.

On writing this I can see not enough fruit early on too.....and I thought I was healthy!!

I currently weigh a lean 88kg, at 5' 11'', I lost a LOT of weight post cycle number three as I tend to lose my appetite for weeks. WIth the diet above I have replaced 6 pounds in three weeks which plateued two weeks ago and I haven't had any weight increase since, so this it seems is spot on for maintaining what I have got.

For info my new cycle is:

Week 1-10 Test E 500 mg p/w
Week 1-10 Dbol 30 mg od
Week 1-10 Nolva 20 mg eod

I posted my cycle in the steroid forum so no need to critique it here, thanks anyway.

Thanks Guys

SD

Your diet could use a little work to get you better gains during your cycle IMO although all in all it's not bad. Here are my thoughts:
  • Take oats, milk and eggs for breakfast. The "oats so simple" are not as good a choice as proper raw oats. Drop the butter and toast.
  • Swap out the mass shakes for something else.
  • Swap out the chicken legs for something else.
  • Drop the yogurt.
  • Add veggies if you can, especially broccoli.
  • Take a bedtime shake (I posted up a recipe for this for you in reply to one of your other posts).
  • Add lots of good fats - supplement with omega-3 oils.

Nothing is wrong with them per se - just that there are better choices of food.

Chicken breast is a better source of food than chicken legs, so why eat legs?

Yogurt can smooth you out a lot, plus it's primarily sugar.

I always look at it like this: You have a set number of calories per day no matter what your diet is. Apart from occasional cheats, you should use those calories to the absolute best of your ability.

Thanks for your comments on my diet, there isnt much veg your right, I do eat them occasionally honest! I eat chiken legs instead of breast cos you can get them already cooked from ASDA, I buy 8 and eat them over my 5 hour shift.

Just chew on this. Use what is appropriate and don’t use what you don’t use. This is just a guide of what I see and might not even be what is going on.
Sorry for critiquing your post with a couple of pints under my belt

Meal 1
Oats so simple & Milk
Two slices granary bread toast
Butter
3 eggs
1 can mackeral fillets.
V12
Multivits
Glutamine 5G

I would drop the toast and either add a fruit or up the oats.
Up the protein on this meal too.
If you have to have toast then you will have to up the protein by maybe 50 grams.

Meal 2

Pro Mass shake with milk.

Sorry, I don’t like to supplement meals much.

Meal 3

2 Chicken breasts
250g Pasta
LF yoghurt
Whey shake

Not a big pasta fan (too processed), I would shoot for a fruit source.
Drop the shake.

Meal 4

Pro mass shake with Milk

Too many supps, but if you have to, Try some whole organic milk if you can find it.

Meal 5

Beef casserole, large portion.
LF Yoghurt

Umm, Umm I like this

Meal 6

Chicken legs x 4

The whole legg?
Leg quarter?
If this does not make you full then go for it.

Pre bed
ZMA
Glutamine 5G

I would still add the L-Ornathine and the L-Arganine (can boost natural GH levels at bedtime) for the hell of it.

Post workout I drink another V12 with 5 g Glutamine added and drink another pro mass shake.

PWO, can be a fast acting protein and some glucose or glucose polymers, this will replenish muscle stores and not liver sores. Fructose will help for liver stores. That and the V12 might be good for post workout.

Big, I agree with this and cant give you points(maxed out right now).

But with the exception of: Chicken breast is a better source of food than chicken legs, so why eat legs?

Well, the Leggs are cheap, cheaper than the breasts.
For the most part the breast is leaner.
If you are lacking fat in the diet you can make it up here.

But the plain is better than sour cream. Also has good bacteria.

Well.. yeah. I prefer to make up for a lack of dietary fat with omega-3's such as flax or cod liver oil as these are better fats than chicken legs. But admittedly that does get expensive.
